BRONCHO STRENGTH FOR THE FUTURE CAMPAIGN
The Lafayette School Corporation is committed to excellence in all areas, including athletics. That commitment is evidenced by the construction of the new Natatorium which will be finished soon, and the provision for other quality facilities. We are embarking on our next quest for excellence with the Broncho Strength for the Future Campaign. We are raising a total of $430,000 to build a state-of-the-art strength, conditioning, and speed development facility to benefit students and staff at Jefferson High School.
Jeff athletic programs are on the rise despite a current training facility that is not conducive to the modern, efficient training of young student-athletes. We have a weight room that pales in comparison to other 6A schools in both size and quality of equipment. The commitment of our student-athletes and coaches to maximize their potential in the weight room is very strong. We are looking to match that commitment by providing a functional training facility.
The new facility will be housed in our current pool area. It will include new flooring and equipment. We would like to have everything in place in July.
Our goal is to provide a facility conducive to the new approach to training young men and women. We want to provide training opportunities during the school day, in a classroom setting, so the athletes, and all students, do not have to train after school and can focus on their specific sports or other activities. Our goal is to have up to 70 students per period in our Advanced Physical Conditioning classes taught by a certified Strength and Conditioning coach. The emphasis will be on the functional movement of our students to enhance performance and reduce injuries.
