Lafayette Jefferson High School has selected Justin Gardiner as the assistant athletics director, effective July 1.
“First of all, we would be remiss if we did not thank Paul Leaf for all he did for Jeff Athletics throughout his tenure,” says LJHS Athletics Director Joe Hernandez. “Paul was a key cog for the Bronchos in his career and we wish him well as he becomes the athletics director at Traders Point Christian School. As for Justin Gardiner, we are extremely excited to welcome him to Broncho Nation. He brings a great amount of experience in a lot of different areas. We are looking forward to his start at Lafayette Jeff and his contributions to the school and the community.”
For the last two years, Gardiner has served as the head football coach, director of transportation and director of special education at Clinton Central High School in Michigantown, Ind. He led the football team from an 0-10 mark in his first season to a 6-4 record in his second season. Prior to that, Gardiner was the assistant football coach and an english teacher at Hanover Central High School in Cedar Lake, Ind. In addition, he was the head football coach for four seasons at Twin Lakes High School from 2012-15.
Gardiner, a 2008 graduate of Wabash College, earned his master’s of education from Bethel (Tenn.) University in 2013. He did his student teaching at Logansport High School before beginning his career at Sequatchie County High School in Tennessee.
