Scorekeepers were kept busy during a high-scoring contest between Lafayette Jeff’s baseball team and Pendleton Heights where Bronchos prevailed 11-6.
The Bronchos fired up the offense in the second inning when Charlie Ensign’s sacrifice fly scored one run for Bronchos.
Lafayette Jeff took the lead for good with eight runs in the fourth inning. Conner Alderson singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Kaleb Fritz singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Jake Habbinga singled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Bronchos, and Ensign tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Jack Long was the winning pitcher for Bronchos. The righty lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and four runs, while striking out four and walking zero. Nolan Grabavoy threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
