After placing third at the IHSAA Regionals, the Lafayette Jeff Boys Cross Country Team has advanced to the Semistate at New Prairie High School Saturday.

The Semistate is slated to begin at 12:15 (EST), and the cost is $8 per person.

The Bronchos placed third at the Regional where the top five teams and top 10 individuals of non-advancing teams advanced to the Semistate. LJHS managed 65 points to finish behind West Lafayette (44) and Harrison (46). McCutcheon and Rossville were the other advancing teams.

At the Regional, Lafayette Jeff was led by Jesus Flores-Villagrana, who finished seventh with a time of 16:54.2. Chris Uribe placed ninth (17:05.5), Jah Montes De Oca was 13th (17:17.4), Andy Melchor finished 24th (17:37.6) and Leo Crampton placed 27th (17:46.0) for the Bronchos.
